10 WAYS TO FLIP ART INTO A BUSINESS

10 WAYS TO FLIP ART INTO A BUSINESS

If you know me, then you’ll know that I like to get straight to the point.

Get your flip on…Start Reading…

1. Art LicensingUse your art and build a licensing company.

There are many people out here looking to start businesses but lack the art. For example.

Recently there was a fake account discovered that was defrauding two elite female artists from the “Instagram Art Famous Club” out of their artwork. It turned out to be that another woman, was stealing their artwork to use for her own products/services.

She was bold with it too. Trying to sell everything under the sun with stolen artwork.

Now while I will say that she was *TOTALLY* out of pocket for what she did…I also will say…UH, *Opportunity*… a business opportunity to be exact.

She needed art! As an artist, you are special. Many believe they can’t do it and will gladly seek out those who can to fulfill a need.

When you art license, this is what you do. You fulfill the need. You lease your art out in exchange for a licensing fee paid on your terms. Typically this is a percentage of gross or net sales. However way you want to boss it up…I (would recommend gross….but I digress.)

2. Create a Stock Art Site

Create a stock art site and have people pay for art like they do images.

Take your little illustrations and create popular content people would want to use to place on seasonal items, holidays, etc.

Here’s 1 way to create your little, cute, illustrations for this type of business. Use your damn phone and a pen. Download a drawing app and start drawing.

I don’t know if you know but the “Illustration” look purposely is intended to have that “Hand drawn” look.

Paint 12 flowers of different colors and boom, you got 12 stock art images you can now sell for someone to use.

I have an even better way to pimp out art for this type of business. Comment if you want me to teach you how to do that…IT’S SO EASY YALL.

(PS: Note,

I created one of these sites in the past. I called it FLMstockart.

I took it down but have been thinking about putting it back up.

3. Abstract Art Paint Party Gal

Similar to Paint Parties, you will still be creating an artwork but this time in teams.

Have ladies get together and focus on creating 1 abstract artwork together.

The fun part about abstract art is that it has no bounds. This will really lend for a wild and fun vibe.

I would make these pieces big as hell, like 36x48 inches as a canvas size. Arrange an assortment of weird tools and let them go for it.

If you really want to do it up, create teams, and throw in a musical chairs aspect to it….Also do this…keep reading

4. Become an On-Demand ART PRINTER for Paint Party Businesses

Print art for the night into canvas prints that all the ladies can take home. Of course this will require a good printer, one that is mobile, especially if you offer this as an ancillary service to an existing paint party business. Print on demand at all costs. Have additional products ready for take home.

5. Art Sublimation

Uh, you know you can be your own Zazzle right? Ever heard of sublimation? Girl.

Get a sublimation printer, they cost about $500-$600 bucks.

With it, you can print your art on all types of products.

Get in to.

6. Street Art Painter

What’s better than riding through a neighborhood and seeing cool art on buildings, on signs, etc.

To do this, you really got to boss it up. It’s going to require that you understand governmental procedures with regard to acquiring approval and taking the right steps to do this. Basically you would present a proposal to proper authority and use verbiage that leans on “Art Improving the Community”.

See what I did there.

To paint on the street, you can use pastel/chalk, spray paint, or acrylic paint and get it going.

It can be a pretty logo, a small piece or large if you’re feeling fancy.

Charge an hourly rate or a one-time fee for this service.

7. Live Art Painter

Don’t be scurred Queens…Live art is a cool way to show your skill and your unique position as an artist.

Paint live at Weddings, business events, parties, whatever.

There are a ton of cool ways to take your art mobile and art up the scene with your presence.

Charge an hourly rate or a one-time fee for this service, like I mentioned for Street Painting.

8. Establish your own Art Market/Festival

Get a tent and pitch up at a park for the weekend.

Parks are prime areas with people flowing in and out, having barbecues, birthday parties, and exercising…the one thing I never see are people with merchant services. From my research, aint’ nothing stopping you from doing this. Your cities governments, specifically the Parks & Recreation department have provisions for posting up at a park. You are allowed to reserve space of a park for any event you want to have. Submit a proposal detailing the event to the proper authorities. Pool your resources and reach out to people for assistance, crowdfund, find vendors to make up for some of the cost for reserving, have they apply, set an application fee, qualify them, set the date, voila.

9. Door to Door Art Catalog Sales

New homes are being built daily.

These people need art.

Create a brochure of your art, walk the neighborhood, pass out your brochures marketing yourself as the no.1 source for new home art. Establish your terms, (like offering prints or originals, give a short delivery time, decent price (when you buy a home, your funds are typically depleted for the first month), get a website, make it easy to order, repeat…walk the neighborhoods with brochures in hand…

10. Art Curator

Become the host. Gather several artists you know and hold an art show for them. Base the show on a theme, Find a location, hire PR, provide food, and take a small percentage of sales.

You can work this in tandem with Monthly women’s brunches and lunches and all of that ish.

What you think? Like these ideas? Still a little confused and want me to hold you after class?

In other words, go deeper?

I can, because venturing into these different ideas requires certain skillsets…selling being one of them.

But “Comment”and let me know and I can discuss these businesses more in depth via a live broadcast…because I wrote business plans for all of these and I wouldn’t’ mind sharing them with you.

XOXO
